Tapio Wirkkala
Born in 1915. Studied sculpture at the Central School of Arts and Crafts 1934-36. Married to Rut Bryk. Participations in foreign exhibitions: Stockholm 1947, Scandinavia, Zurich, Milan 1951, Great Britain, The U.S.A. and Canada 1952-1954. Worked for Karhula Iittala, Asko, Kultakeskus and Rosenthal. Was influenced by nature and used glass, wood and metal in his objects.
